Help Cochlear Implant

bdoyle46

Lurker
I have a cochclear implant. I have a cord that runs from my processor into a phone. This enables me to hear directly through my implant. However, when I use this cord with my Optimus V an icon TTY appears at the top of my phone screen. I can hear my phone calls but when I speak nobody can hear me! I believe TTY service is for people who need to type messages. Can you help me. I have used this cord connected to my processor with other smart phones ie iPhone, and have no difficulty hearing or speaking. Any help would be appreciated.

If your phone is stock check under Settings > Call Settings > TTY Mode and this should let you turn TTY mode on or off. Give this a try and see if it helps.

Have you done any rooting or custom roms on this phone? If so some custom roms disable the internal mic when anything is plugged into the headphone jack. The only way to remedy this for now is to revert back to stock

Thanks so much for your answer to my question. I have the TTY shut off but still hear nothing. I've never "rooted" (I don't even have a clue what that means!) this phone ..... but am wondering how to reset it to original settings as you suggest.
Thanks, again.
