Root codefire instal probs

jellytime playing up a bit with a few apps such as snapchat, and poor camera pics, so thought id look at a newer ROM. looks like theres little choice these days, so picked codefire x. didnt really understand the links and the different website, but thought id downloaded the nightly rom, a superuser zip and gapps.
wiped, then tried installing but it aborted, so i restored jellytime.

can anyone link me to a definite codefire d/load please so i can try it?

just want to try a different rom thatll be an upgrade on jellytime, and have good battery life......
 
Sorry Davo - can't really point you in the right direction... my (beloved) DHD was nicked off me by a (so called) friend when I upgraded and so I don't get to mess any more! :(

I'll do a bit of digging over the weekend though and see if I can find anything for you! :)
 
downloaded one of the nightlies on that link, put it on my sd card, but when i tried to iinstal it it wouldnt work :-(

spose the DHDs getting old hat now :-/ shame as im happy with the phone, but things are starting to stop working on it and i just want to try newer software, see if i can get it back up to scratch :-/

EDIT: just tried a different zip. both have come up saying error in the zip on my sd card and installation aborted
 
Sorry... not sure what to suggest, as I don't have my DHD any more, so can't really try anything out!

only thing I can think of is corruption when you downloaded/transferred it over. Did you check the md5?
 
i didnt mate, ive sort of forgoten how to do it its been that long since i flashed a rom! :-/

would it help me anyway? if i found they didnt match, theres nothing i could do is there? shame the roms have stopped coming for this phone, im still happy with it.

Have been meaning to come back to this thread and reply to you, but have been caught up in all things festive! :o

If you want a bit of info on MD5 verification, check out this thread from our FAQ section... it will explain how you can check them.

It's always worth checking... at least you'd know if there is a problem with the ROM you've downloaded before flashing it :)
 
ive just had a look thanks and been trying to suss it, but it all looks a bit beyond me with codefire. i followed your link again above to try and find where i d/loaded the zip from to see if i could find an md5 for it. couldnt even locate where i got it from, the codefire website seems a nightmare.
if they dont make it easy to locate and download a file i cant see me being able to get this on my phone.

ive found a md5.exe file on my pc that looks like itd check it for me but i just cant find the number for my file.

id instal a different rom to try, but my batterys not lasting as long these days, so i want a pretty stripped down, modern rom and therre just doesnt seem to be much option for me.
