From what little I've been able to find I think that's referring to the particular software/firmware version. It's probably just part of the number, and I don't know Samsung numerology well enough to guess whether it refers to an overall firmware version, baseband, build number, kernel or what. It makes sense though, since mod not working with certain firmware is not an uncommon situation.
