Help Color Codes in Google Calendar

I know how you change the color codes on the web site but is there a way to change the colors assigned to a particular calendar from the within the Note 3 calendar app? :confused:

You can edit the color by tapping the color tile next to the 'Title' box. It will give you a dropout to select different colors. See my 2 screenshots below.

Hmmm...

That's different, I'm on Sprint and the page has "Edit event" at the top but there is no "Color Box" next to the title field.

U.S. 4.3 - are you on KitKat or is it another Verizon is better than Sprint feature.

:)

I was on Sprint now with Verizon (the app is the same on both) and I use the Google calendar from the app store. There is a little painters pallet next to your email address. Tap on that and you can choose the color choice.

I'm still at 4.3 Jellybean with Verizon update version MJE.

I use the stock calendar widget on my phone so when I want to add an event I get the window in my previous post with the color tile next to the 'Title'.

Now I went to the stock Calendar app and clicked on it to see if there's a difference between the smaller widget display and there is. When you go to add an event it initially brings up the edit screen below that does NOT have a color tile next to 'Title' box. But if you tap the 'Edit event details' that I circled in red it does bring up a more editable screen that does have the color tile next to the 'Title' box.

Maybe you are clicking the Calendar app itself each time and not getting into the detailed edit screen. Below is what you may be looking at.

Do you have more than one calendar set up?

Yes, and here's the problem. While it is certainly possible to go into a specific event and change the color, I can NOT figure out how to change the default color for any particular calendar. I am showing both mine and my husband's Google Calendar and the colors it chose for them are two dark colors, difficult to tell them apart when in month view. I need to be able to change the default color for one of the calendars. Easy to do on the Google Calendar web site. Not so much on the Note 3. :confused:

@Omicron Note 3

In your screenshot you are on 'My Calendar' which does not give a event color option. Tap the 'My Calendar' expand symbol (>) and select your Gmail account setting in the dropout selector. Now you will have a color tile next to the 'Title' box. I'm assuming you have a Gmail account linked with a Google Calendar on your computer. Samsung Calendar also does not show a color tile when selected. I guess it's just a Google option.

I did manage to discover a workaround on another site. I downloaded the Google Calendar app which I don't care for because it doesn't show text in the monthly view. Anyway, that app actually allows you to change the default colors of your various calendars. Oddly enough, it will also change it in the stock calendar app and also on the web site even though the color I set on the web site would NOT sync down to the app. Very strange (irritating) behavior but I'm just glad I could get it done.

@clitrenta

It didn't dawn on me until after my first post that you might have meant the actual Calendar colors for multiple calendars and not events.

The stock calendar appears to be the only place that you can select calendar color when you 'Add' a new calendar to the 'My Calendar' account. All others are assigned by default like you stated.

That's great that you were able to find the Google workaround.
