Sorry haven't read the article mate but do you have to uninstall the stock cam before this or does it exist as a separate app?

Not sure.
Just guessing from d/l camera apps of varying sorts on other phones,I'd guess that you can leave the stock camera in place.
If I still had the 1+1,I'd already tried it out & posted the results.
That is one thing nice about this phone,that it is generally very forgiving & not too difficult to restore should things go south.
Perhaps there's a thread @ XDA that has more info/user experiences.......

Nope. I tried alpha 1 and it wasn't saving pictures, but they should have things rectified shortly if not already in alpha 2.
