Help com.android.keyguard

Have had my note 4 for about 2 weeks now. Been noticing that my battery has been draining quickly. Checked the battery status and got the following:

com.android.keyguard - 54%
screen - 12%
android system - 9%
Google services - 7%
cell standby - 5%

Any ideas as to why my battery is being drained so much by "com.android.keyguard"? Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for the help.

Quick google says(com.android.keyguard) is your lock screen. Do you have any lock screen widgets or apps? My note 4 battery is awesome, I leave GPS, WIFI on and easily get through the day with pretty heavy use.

I have the standard pattern lock on my screen with the time widget. Just removed the pattern lock and went back to the swipe method and it looks like com.android.keyguard is gone. Its not showing this as draining any battery. Just wondering why it would take up so much battery with just a pattern lock.

Weird. I like using the finger print method to unlock. It doesn't work every time, but I like that I can use my thumb at an angle, can't do that on the S5. But when I do the finger print unlocked slow and steady it probably works 95% of the time.

I have an app called "Night Clock" that displays the time over the lock screen. Uses a lot of battery, and I believe it uses this process.

It's probably the clock. I use the pattern lock w/o any battery issues.

Hi Ennaira,

Welcome to the forum!

As explained above, the com.google.keyguard is a part of the Android operating system and therefore neither a virus or something that can/should be removed.

I would recommend that you try to remove any custom lock screen and/or widgets from your lock screen (also as mentioned above) to see if this solves your problem.

Best of luck!

Regards,
Eric.
