Help com.android.phone keeps crashing

Hi
i have a branded galaxy phone from israel.
i decided to upgrade my firmware to i5 but after the upgrade
i had the process com.android.phone crashes every time with "force quit"
this renders my phone totally useless.
i then tried to switch my sim card to another sim from a different mobile provider and it worked ! but my original sim card keeps crashing the phone
when i used nandroid to recover my ROM i did not have crashes anymore
can you please tell me what to do ?
i really want my phone to be on the latest firmware
thanks

The single file upgrade with odin doesnt wipe all your data. Is that what you used?

You need to do a factory reset after the upgrade to get everything working properly. Otherwise you'll have strange crashes all the time.

The reason is that there is suposed to be a userdata section in the odin files which trigger the factory reset. Because someone made the i5 file from the original firmware tar file and didnt make up a userdata file it doesnt do that.
