Help "com.google.process.gapps has stopped" popping up every two seconds

After updating my first generation (2012) Nexus 7 from 5 to 5.1, I keep getting "com.google.process.gapps has stopped" every two seconds. Anyone with the same problem? It pops up so quickly that it makes even attempting at doing something almost impossible.

Yes I have the same problem. Of you are really quick at pressing 'ok' you can access other icons, I tried removing google apps but it hasn't worked

Have you guys tried clearing the cache in recovery? Or if that fails, factory reset
