com.google.process.gapps has stopped working.

I see this on my desire more than anyrhing else. It happens all the time and it does not seem to be linked to any specific application. I have searched but can not find anything that helps.
My phone only started doing it after rooting. Any ideas?

I have disabled Google sync and the message has gone.

It was happening to me, too. I noticed that if I turned off sync to my Google Calendar and then turned it on, the message instantly appeared. Makes me think there is a direct connection between the two.

I read elsewhere and tried it - clear the cache for Gmail. I went ahead and cleared anything related to Google as well as my calendar. I restarted it and resynced it all and now it works fine.

Try it out. So far, so good. Now, even my optical trackball works again (before, it used to work for a few minutes and then suddenly stop working - it was definitely related to that error because once, it happened right after the error appeared).
