Help com.htc.bg 'process stopped unexpectedly' on HTC Desire after OTA update 2.29

Hi,

My Desire is O2 branded and yesterday night I had an OTA update to Anrdroid 2.29. After this I am getting the following FC message every few seconds.

>>> The process com.htc.bg has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. >>>

One of the forums suggested to remove Facebook and Exchange Sync and re-add them. Did the same, but the issue didn't get fixed. Even disabled the background Sync. Still the same issue. Please help.

Ota updates seldom go off without a hitch. Usually a factory reset cures the issue.

Download my backup pro trial and backup as much as you can then reset it
