Are you rooted? You may have inadvertently uninstalled a process or app the system needs. A factory reset might be the easiest way to rectify a misbehaving phone.

Thanks! No, I'm not rooted. Would love to find out exactly what it means to be rooted. Would you be so kind as to help on that one as well? I've considered it, but do not know enough about it and am too scared to got here.
