Coming from an Iphone and have a few questions

Hey guys, so I am coming from an iphone 4s and there are a few things im still trying to figure out on this phone.

1st - My girlfriend has an iphone and when she sends me those emoji faces i cant see them. Is there anything i can do so that i can see them and also send them to her?

2nd - On the iphone when i would get an email with a time/place i would be able to simply click on it like a link and add it to my calendar. The same thing goes for addresses, i would be able to click it like a link and it would open maps. Is there anyway to do this with gmail/android.

Thanks in advanced.

Maybe with a 3rd party app, but not natively. Those are the types of things that cause Apple to sue Samsung, so they can't incorporate them. The HTC EVO 4G LTE was delayed due to the way that you could click on a phone number in a text or email, if memory serves me right.

Not sure on the emoji. Go SMS may solve both issues.

I think u can send and receive emoji using handscent sms and it's emoji add-on. But I'm not 100% sure... Google that and see what u come up with.

Yeh, it looks like i can do that with go sms and handsent with a plugin. Anyone know of a third party app for gmail links.

When i use handcent or go sms i can send the emoji and the iphone sees them, however i cannot receive the emoji. Any ideas, i tried googleing it, others are having the problem but I couldn't find the solution.

I've actually been having this problem myself...it shows up as a bunch of question marks and equal signs, right? What I tried doing was going into the settings menu for my Handcent app, go into "Application Settings", and then changing the encoding settings for emoji. Only problem with that is that you'll have the opposite effect...you can send and receive emoji, but the iPhone you send them to will get a bunch of letters and numbers.

The good news is, you're not the only one with this problem. The bad news is that being in the same boat means we're both dead in the water. :(
