Root coming from google nexus, advice on good daily driver rom

Hi everybody. Coming from a long line of android phones. I always root, but I am not one to flash a different rom every few days. I like to find a good daily driver and stick with it. Looking for improved battery life and functionality, and I don't mind vanilla. Not really a big fan of the motorolla UI, but I'm not necessarily opposed to it either, if anybody wants to point out its strong points.

Can somebody please provide some input for a good daily driver rom? Thanks a bunch!

After searching the forums a bit I've discovered that there is little to no aftermarket rom support for this device.... am I missing something?

i have noticed it too, so far on .173 eclipse 1.3 is a good daily driver, i would go with the ICS leaks, however i prefer to have bluetooth, camera, and usb working, that is the only reason i am still on the GB leak.

Thanks for the reply man. Yeah, ICS will have to wait until the functionality is there. Nothing wrong with gingerbread.

So how would I go about flashing eclipse?

I noticed that clockwork mod didn't come with this particular root method like it did on my thunderbolt. And I never bothered rooting the nexus cause I liked it stock.

Forgive my ignorance and thanks again for the help, but if I read this correctly, I need to unroot and put clockwork mod on? Is there a way to remain rooted and install it safely?

Also, I keep getting directed to that other forum, and I tried to register so I could see links to download but never received the confirmation email.

When I go to about phone it just says 2.3.6

I'm missing something.

By the way, I'll gladly buy you a beer for all this.

EDIT:

I do see something under system version 6.12.181 etc. If that's what you're referring to.
