Commando not charging from car charger

I noticed the Mophie Juice Pack thread, and there is some great info there, but here's my problem:

Commando shows "usb connection" and the logo but won't go into charging mode when I plug it into a micro usb cable that is plugged into a car lighter/usb port, and does the same thing when I plug it into a wall (120v) usb charging port.

Are there any settings I can alter to make it charge like this, or do I need new plugs for my car?

there is an option in setting you clicked that was always use this option when usb is plugged in and u clicked usb tetherin i believe. i would bet there is an option in setting but my commando ran into a semi and lost so i cant look for you

Thanks, but the only usb options I have are settings-->usb--> ask on plug, or manual pick from charge only, sync sd card, or use as removable storage. Are there any other settings I'm missing?

nah man devices like wall and car chargers should just work right away for phones. What brand are they? Are you rooted?

It is some off brand cables/plugs, but the same cables let me charge attached to a computer. The phone charges just fine with a "wall wart" that goes straight from 120v to micro usb. The phone just doesn't seem to charge when it's in the car

I've run into the same issues using car chargers with mine, using various generic car chargers. Sometimes disconnecting and reconnecting at the phone will allow it to charge. I believe it is the chargers output that causes the confusion in the phone. My wall charger and cradle work 100% of the time.
