Help complete n00bie ace (S*G*)gt-s5830i

The ROM you have linked to is a Jellyblast ROM. I used a Jellyblast ROM and it lost my IEMI number, as it has many others, see comments at the ROM link:-

i updated and found one problem that is! i'm not able to call or send msgs its saying mobile network not available and emergency calls only! although net pack is working fine. any solutions regarding this?

Your issue is getting your phone connected to your PC, I had the same problem, tried different cables, different USB ports, power offs and reboots of both phone and PC, eventually the PC eventually saw phone as a modem.
Once I got the PC to see the phone, follow the tutorial, it has links to everything you need including a ROM that will get your phone working, it also restored my IEMI number, which I have since backed up using Galaxy Toolbox.
Then you can decide what to do next, keep ROM from tutorial or ..............
I have now sucessfully downloaded the Mindcr v2.4 ROM which works well.

Hmmm...try to download the drivers from another website. You can also try a different pc, it sometimes help, i was never able to use kies on my pc but it ran quite easily on my friend's system, so give it a shot.
When you said 'it did not work', did you try it with a running odin on the system or just plugged the device into the system?
And i don't know why you think i am trying to flame here, but that is not my intention, i am merely trying to provide the information, i am sorry if it seemed like i was.

And be careful with that jellyblast rom, there have been a lot of people complaining about lost imei after flashing that rom.

nope those drivers arent working will litterally need someones drivers that they have backed up from their machine not an installer : (

I have no clue what you are trying to do . let me get you up to date. You need a ROM . yes a ROM custom or regular to get you out of clockworkmod . doing this you can get the correct os . yes the original software version that was on your phone so you the user can get either the correct os firmware for your device and also the correct drivers from your phone . without that running ROM you wont get any drivers from the device . I said just put a custom ROM on the device so you can use . I know someone is confusing you but as I left you the URL to unbrick and the drivers for both sites . as I proved you can use other Roms but make sure they say they are compatible with the 5830 or 5830i . you need a fully working SD card for the device this will carry the working ROM that you will need to flash through that clockworkmod recovery . that will not disappear until u get a working ROM . now I showed you that ROM jellyblast . it maybe a problem with the imei Dont flash that one . try to flash any ROM you can find to get u out of cwm.

its not reading from my working sd card tho ? thats the problem, when i get a working menu to select my rom from the external sd its saying it cannot mount it because of the software "CWM - Clockwork mod" being damaged the sd works in my cam for on my helmet STILL lol..

i can try this monday when i buy another sd to check if thats it ...

thanks for all the links and help

i know i need a rom and for it to be on the sd card and for the phone to see the rom via the cwm an micro sd

however

my phone has been so badly damaged via software that the phone isnt able to see the sd card and that the menu works but only sometimes

either way when im paid i'll order a fresh new sd, my question now is

2 things

1 when if i get to flashing hows does that work what do i select action by action ?

2 what size sd do you think i need ?

4 or 8 GB make sure its a class10 card. One problem is that u Dont have the latest cwm recover it will work but it needs updating. Try the card and post back

I'd like to amend this a bit considering i have been using the ace for over 3 years now. The OP has 2 options:
1. Use Odin and flash the stock firmware, and this requires a pc.
2. Get a rom and flash it via CWM and you need a working sd card and cwm for this.

Now he has 2 problems that is not letting him do any of this, first is that his sd card is not working in the phone, it could be that the card is damaged or cwm itself is damaged, so flashing via cwm is out, secondly he is also not able to get proper drivers for the pc so Odin is also out of the equation.
Now the OP can choose to focus on any one of these problems, if he can solve one then that will bring his phone back into business.

Just in case nothing works, take it to the samsung service centre and ask them to reinstall software, they'll probably charge a bit but you will get the phone working again, its same as flashing via Odin.

Good luck.

There is a link to a set of drivers in the tutorial, in the tutorial link that I posted. I know they work because I used them to connect my Ace S5830i to my PC, took a bit of retrying but my PC did see my phone as a modem in the end. Using odin as specified in the tutorial you do not need an sd card.
Sounds like op has made progree if he can load CWM, may be easiest to carry on as he is planning and try a different sd card. If he has a friend with an sd card and they are willing to let him borrow it, op could check if he can see their card before he buys one.
