I'm a 47 year old who has just got his very first smartphone. (Dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century, I know!!) On my previous "dumb" phones I've got into the habit of setting reminders for meetings at work etc. and they worked more or less like an alarm clock. The reminder went off at the scheduled time and KEPT RINGING until I snoozed or dismissed it.
Now on this Nexus 5, I'm using the calendar app and the default reminder is a "notification" 10 mins prior to the event. But this notification is simply a one-off, low-key "blip". I've gone into Settings > Sounds and tried the various other sounds but they're all as bad as each other. In a noisy office, or with the phone in my pocket I just won't hear that!
I've had this phone only 48 hours so I could well be missing something. I don't want to have to mess about setting the alarm clock all the time, but I'd like the phone to make some kind (any kind!) of continuous noise until I acknowledge it.
