Complicated contract question. Little help...

Okay, my girlfriend and I broke up a few weeks ago (don't feel bad, I broke up with her ). We are both on a Family Share plan atm and both have smart phones (HTC Eris and LG Ally).

Here's what I want to do: I want to cancel my line and go back to a dumb phone (to save money, not because I prefer them, I'm moving to Europe soon and need the $). She wants to keep her Ally.

I am the primary line on the account (account's in my name obviously). I know one way to get out of a contract is to put the account into someone else's name. Could I put the account in her name (thus, making her the primary line) and then just cancel my line? Thus, only paying one ETF and not two?

You can make her the primary on the account and then you can take assumption of liablity on your line and move over to a seperate plan... just call *611 from your phone they can help you.

Thanks for the reply mate. I will probably just cancel my line. I'll get a trackphone or something. I just want something prepaid and cheap. I honestly don't use my phone that much anyway...

verizon just changed thier prepayed plans.. to a really good deal...unlimted talk for $1.99 a day( only on the days you use it) and $.02 per text message which actually makes it a great deal! Just be warned when you cancel you line you will be changed the service fee.. you can suspend your number but however much time you have on your contract still be there til you activate the line.. and let it finish the remainder of the contract. if you are close to the end of you contract it would be that much to cancel.
