Help Composing sms offline

Does anyone know of a reliable program that allows me to compose sms messages offline and then send via my phone?

In the old days of Nokia I could use Nokia PC Suite to do it easily
 
If you're with O2 in the UK take a look at TU GO. You can install it on up to 5 device across different platforms. Calls & sms sent via TU GO appear to have been sent via your phone & are taken from your monthly allowance.

I use it while abroad to avoid roaming charges but it can equally be used over WiFi when you have no phone signal.
 
Update on Airdroid.
I have dumped it. I get way too many log in problems
Virtually every time I try and log in it needs several goes on my PC and almost never logs in on my phone

Any other suggestions gratefully received

Strange. Works first time, every time for me
 
I am now trying MightyText (free from Play Store) and it seems to work well and is integrated with your Google ID (one less password to remember)

One word of warning, though. Do not jetison your regular SMS messaging app from your phone. You will still need it to send messages on your phone. MightyText only sends texts from your PC/Tablet but does allow you to read and respond to messages via your computer
