computer backup

Hi all, just got my Samsung Galaxy Y a couple weeks ago now. Ok now that I have played with it a lot I really want to backup everything on it, such as phone contacts and music and photos.
Thing is I have used the USB lead to connect to the computer and it is found but as I thought it would have the backup program on the phone ready to put into the computer I now found it does not.
My last phone, an LG had this function so I was hoping that this one might of also. Does anyone know where I can get hold of a program or how to do the backups as the phone does not have even a hand book with it. (I bought it new at carphone warehouse).
Thanks everyone for your help.

I use "Syncback" on my PC to back up my PC hard drives. I set a profile up for the drive letters when mounted to back up "Internal" and "External". I just hit "run" and it backs up anything that has changed. No need for a phone app. I do that about once per month.

Hi tcat007, thanks for the very quick reply. The program you talk about, is it a free downloadable one to the computer or a paid for one.
Cheers

I did get a 2gig card with the phone but never used it because I had a lot of tunes on my old card. I will swap them over and take a look.
Cheers.

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies and advice. I tried sycback but cannot get away with it. I set the profil up as it aske at the begining but could not get it to do what I wanted. I will leave it on the computer and give it a few more goes so I can get used to it.
Thanks again.
