Hi guys, newbie to actually posting on AndroidForums, but long time reader.
I'm the founder of AgriTrack, a farm agriculture software company, which allows for the live tracking of farm vehicles.
(Note: I have literally read every forum post, article, website about bulk Android config, but still need some help)
Our company is supplying a full hardware package, with our software preloaded onto Android (and iOS) tablets. Up until now with our beta testing, I have configured each of the 20 Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1's by hand.
In general, I turn the tablet on, get through the setup screens, adjust approx 10 settings in the Android Settings, install about 6 apps from the Play Store (TeamViewer QS, Weather, AppLock etc), change the wallpaper to a custom one, delete all the junk on the homescreens, put the downloaded apps on the home screen (and during the beta testing) install Dropbox to sync new versions of the application. - In general this takes approx 15mins/tablet, and is error prone :/
We are now needing to configure about 50 tablets at a time, and need a faster way to set them up.
The IDEAL case would be that All of the above is done via some kind of installation file - like update.zip (etc) and that the main Gmail account on the device is Not set up during this process. I would then have 50+ tablets which I can take to my customers - And if they want (say) 10 tablets, I set up a google account for their farm and quickly sign into that account on each tablet - finishing the set up of the tablet. This account would then ideally be linked to the installed apps, and update as needed via the play store etc.
I'm pretty good at general Roming, Rooting etc, have got SDK installed, but could really do with your thoughts on what the best solution could be
Got 30 tablets to do in the next 24hours, so probably should get started!
