OK, so I am getting really confused about what Samsung is doing with their range of tablets this year. I have a Galaxy S3 phone and am interested in a Samsung tablet to go along with it. And by that I don't mean the Nexus 10, as I want a true Samsung device that shares the same apps that I have on the S3. I have been following the rumours the last couple of months, and there was talk of the Galaxy Tab 3 coming in 2 or 3 sizes: a 7 or 8 inch version, a 10.1 inch version, and a top-end 10.1 version ("Galaxy Tab 3 Plus" codenamed "Roma") sharing similar specs to the Nexus 10. On top of this we now have the Galaxy Note 8.0 in the shops and a suggestion that the Galaxy Note 10.1 won't have a follow-up version after all.
The latest rumours that have come out this week have thrown all of this into complete confusion. It appears that the Galaxy Tab 3 will come in just one size (7 inch), as Samsung is not calling it the Galaxy Tab 3 "7.0". Then there is talk of a dual-sim version of the 7 inch Galaxy Tab 3. Both versions seem to have pretty uninspiring specs. Then there is an 8 inch Galaxy Tab - not sure why we'd need a 7 inch and 8 inch version unless the specs were very different. And finally there is talk of the Nexus 11 and a Galaxy Tab 11. The specs of the Galaxy Tab 11 certainly do not match what we were led to believe about the "Roma" model. So will there be this flagship Samsung tablet or not? I cannot believe that Samsung would let their own tablets play second fiddle to the Nexus tablets.
So what are we to believe? Any thoughts?
