Confused New Rugby Smart Owner

I have had this phone for about a week - my first Smartphone. It is through Consumer Cellular and uses android ver 2.3.6
I downloaded one app, a game called Hanging With Friends, and now after a couple of days the game no longer works, and the phone seems to be working at a snail's pace.
I don't even know how I found it, but somewhere it showed the ROM almost maxed...
I thought I was fairly tech-savvy, but as I read through this forum I feel totally over my head..
Any ideas?

You can go into your app manager in settings and clear the cache on the app. Or even clear the data that will sign you out of the app. Close running apps that you aren't using. Power off can do that.

This is an inherent problem of Touchwiz on 2.3.6. I'm rapidly working on a pure AOSP 2.3.7 for this device on top of the other android versions I've built.
