im not understanding this soo can one install roms on internal memory or is it required to install them on the sd cause that seems like it would eat up sd cards due to the high read right that would be put on them

You can install then on the internal memory.

Basically, the SD card is the same as the eMMC hardware, so no difference. I wouldn't worry about wearing out the card. Actually, it would be better to wear out the SD card than the eMMC!

I run internal, have no need for B&N's UI.

I unpacked my new NC, booted off a bootable CWR disk and flashed Phiremod on it immediately and haven't looked back.
