Connect to PC, default usb drive? Help!

I m trying to sync my contacts and calendar from outlook to my hero. i did it once, but after that, every time i connect my phone to the PC via the usb cable. the computer automatically connects it as a USB drive to the SD card which in turn does not allow me to connect for synchronization!...

is there a way to stop auto connect as USB drive? I need the phone to be in sync mode before i can start the htc sync app. pls help!!

sorry guys, i hav sorted it out. have to check the debug mode first...

Damn, i m now able to sync, but i get the error "Connectoin to mobile phone timed out".... whats the problem now? can anyone pls help?

Hmm... i restarted the phone once and my pc a few times, now seems to be ok!!!
