Help connect to wifi???

keeps saying wifi network available. i turn wifi on, i can see our available open wifi here at work. but when i try to connect the signal drops some and it will not connect. what am i doing wrong?
it will say "connecting" then after like 8 seconds or so it will just say saved under the network.
 
sounds like the radio is having trouble with some aspect of the wireless. could be the channel, authentication or the band like G. run it by your tech guy

Obvious question--are you entering your workplace SSID and password into your phone?
 
Hit the menu button in the wifi screen and uncheck Avoid Poor Connections. Seems to cause a conflict with some networks I've been around despite poor signal. Hopefully that works.
 
been asking around at work now, and aparently our IT guy has to get his hands on the phone or other device and do somthing to it so it will connect to the open network. Guess ill have to talk to him. thanks guys

Mine is doing the same thing at work. It was working fine for a long time and then just suddenly stopped working last week (probably right around the time you posted this). I asked our IT guy and he said the open, unsecure netork has not changed at all so i'm thinking somehting in the phone changed. I can't think of any apps i've installed that would have done this but I'm going to try killing some of the processes of recent apps and see.

Wifi works fine at home still. maddening since they've started cracking down on internet usage at work... :smokingsomb:
