Connect two Bluetooth devices simultaneously

I owned an iPhone with Bluetooth 4.2 and I could connect my wireless speaker and my smartwatch simultaneously, but on Android there seems not to be such an option. My Android device is in Nougat and also with Bluetooth 4.2

Bluetooth 5.0 fixes that. I'm not sure if it's a software or hardware fix though.

They all do... I'm listening to bluetooth headphones, whilst wearing my smartwatch and using a bluetooth keyboard.
