Connecting to Galaxy Tab via USB in Linux

Of course, YMMV, but I have discovered that my tablet (model P3113) connects to my Linux Mint 15 when I plug it in when it is unlocked.

It has always been hit-and-miss before, but then I discovered someone else's note that their machine connected only when they had their phone unlocked and it clicked...

I had Kies on Windows complain about the phone screen being locked also. (Just in case anyone runs into a "can't connect" problem and wonders why.)

I have verified this works with my SPH-D710 Galaxy S II 'Epic 4G Touch' as well.

Hmmm, I'll have to check mine when I get home in the morning. I hardly connect my Tab to my computer. I did when I first got it in 2011 but can't remember how it worked.
