Connecting to my school wifi

If i connect to my school wifi to use "Google Search" or "Youtube", do they charge me money?

If not, how do they charge people money for the internet?

No you will not be charged its the school who pay for the internet

Hi,
There's a difference between wifi and packet data: using wifi won't cost you extra, but using packet data (mobile internet) will! So your mom's right for that part.

I see. And one more question. How do i know when im using packet data? does it warn me?

when u r using 3g u will see 3g/H/E in ur statusbar. u can also check it from setting -> wireless and network -> mobile network -> packet data, if packet data is unticked u r not using it.

I all depends on you school policies... they might be charging a fee to cut the costs down.
