Help Connecting to service provider?

My daughter bought a samsung 3 on the orange network.....but she doesn't seem to be connected to the network. In settings>About Phone>Status it says No Network connected . Out of service. How does she get the phone connected.....She assumed it already would be. Is there something she has to activate on the phone? Any help appreciated.

Sometimes it takes around 24-48 hours for the service providers to activate their service. Otherwise go to Settings - More Settings - Mobile Networks - Network Operators and search for Orange, or put it on automatic mode
