Hello all,

I recently acquired a GS3 from Tmobile and I have been having trouble connecting it to my MacBook (OS X 10.5). I've tried using Android File Transfer and it just doesn't work (in both MTP and PTP mode). Other threads I've read have said PTP mode works, but that definitely does not work for me. MTP mode will sometimes bring up a file transfer window, but when I try to do anything, it does immediately disconnects and tells me "No Android device found". I would prefer to not have to download another app if I don't have to...so does anyone have any suggestions? I would really like to transfer files (drag and drop, explorer style is ideal) to my new phone....Thank you in advice for your help!

I called Samsung and they were of no help. They said I either have to do a factory reset or send it in...does anyone else have any ideas? I tried AirDroid, but there's no access to the external SD card. Kies isn't connecting either (only Kies Air which is horrible...).

Have you tried enabling USB debugging?

Settings>Developer options>top option

That might help with drivers, possibly.

Yes, USB debugging is on. I even tried with it off (not that it would help but I figured it was worth a shot). The only thing that seems to allow it to connect at all is switching from MTP to PTP, then BACK to MTP...and this doesn't always work. When it does connect it doesn't allow me to take any action other than browse (I can't move files, add files, etc.) or else it disconnects again.

Do you get the usb notification at the top, then swype down to see the notification window and tap on the notification to get options there for how the connection is handled?
