Root Connection to PC never works.

pretty much from the beginning of my getting the Esteem, it has not successfully connected to my PC.

I get a "failed to change USB" mode, and on my phone it does not seem to matter if I set to "USB mass storage", "Internet connection" or "charge only" I have never been able to just move files off my phone onto my PC.

PC Specs
Dell optiplex GX620
Windows XP pro
3 GB RAM

Also:
there is no malware on my phone
After I install LGMobile support tool The phone does go into "Start updating" mode when IT IS TURNED OFF. when I turn the phone back ON, the support tool says "phone disconnected" how weird is that?
I am a little scared to "start updating" the phone because iIam afraid of losing my root, and Kernel, and getting bumped back to ZVC

what should I do?

Any ideas? I took some cool videos and I want to move them to my computer.

Thanks!

There is a second slot opposite the SD card slot on the left hand side. It looks like there is something in the slot made of white plastic, with a bunch of 5-digit serial numbers on it

No. But I have seen adapters and such.
I wonder why I get the "automatic USB mode change is failed" ?

Thanks.

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?

Good One Blitz! Surprised his CPU has no SD card slot:confused:
When you say "his CPU", you are referring to my computer, correct?

Aftermath: after un-installing, and then re-installing drivers a prompt window appeared to complete the process. I put it into "usb mass storage mode" and I am all good.

Gbiggie for the win again!

thanks!

So vids are now on CPU right:confused:

I was stumped to be honest with you...glad that was the solution:cool:

please define exactly what you mean by CPU?
1: The central processing unit on my computer
2: The central processing unit on my phone

thanks.

Habit I suppose referring to CPU as your desktop/laptop computer...may have to rethink that:eek:
