What a coincidence, i also got the exclaim and i am planning on upgrading to the Hero this week.

Oh yeah, and make sure you get a hero that is already preloaded with 2.1. I think that'll take care of the lag.

my rooted moment is little to no data lock problems. gps works fine, battery life is LESS THAN DESIREABLE even with mods, but WAY better on meatkernal than stock for sure.

the moment is a decent phone... if you get one that works. seems to be a crapshoot. i dont know anythign about the hero because i am a physical keyboard junkie and i never even considered the hero because of the lack of one.
