I just discovered something useful on the Motorola Photon. The first Contact listed is called "Emergency Contacts." Any contact you put there is accessible from the pattern-lock screen without unlocking the phone. You can also include some additional notes.
I put in the numbers for my home, work and wife's cell, along with a note that has my non-Google email and another that says "Reward if found." Hopefully, if I lose my phone the finder will be kind enough to actually try returning it to me via one of those contact points.
