I have a Galaxy s4, (Lollipop) with Verizon. I have tried edituing my contact names but they keep going back to the original name. For example, my neighbor went through a messy divorce. I had the neighbors' names listed together (ex: John and Suzy Smith). I have tried numerous times to remove the departed spouse (John) but the name keeps re-popping up on my contact lists (John and Suzy Smith) after a few days.
Similarly, when I set up my account years ago, I put in first and last name on the opening line (Steve Jones). Now, I get the first and last name and the last name again. (Steve Jones Jones). Again....when I edit the name out....save the contact.....a few days later.....Steve Jones Jones shows up again.
I have tried going in through my contacts in through Verizon on my home computer.....and everything just re-populates. Annoying.
Finally, I have 4 "Bill Bakers"...with different color icons. They are all the same person...but my contact list gets really long because Bill Baker (email) is a different contact from his cell phone....his home number....etc. Once again....I have merged contacts on my phone but they keep coming undone a few days later.
