Help contact not remembered in text msg

My husband's contact info is not showing up in text anymore. Everyone else has there pics and name but his just has his phone number. if you press the person and click on view his info shows up but not on Text list. How do i fix this? I've tried everything.. reseting phone. redoing his contact info.. help!

Try to link his 'messages' profile to his profile under 'people'.

it is linked but it doesn't show up on msg. clicking on it brings him up.

I had the same issue. I had to remove the parenthesis and dashes from the phone number of my contact in order for their contact info to show up in the text.

I've had the same problems with my contacts not showing up on my messages since the newest update. I am also having problems sending any messages. Since the update when i try to send a message it just saves it as a draft instead of sending it.

I have this issue with contacts where Google or being imported from an older phone has put any kind of punctuation in the number. I had a bunch with parentheses and a bunch with plus signs at the beginning.

im having the same problem with my texts! nothing works.. even adding the +1 or changing the parenthesis. it only shows some contacts. this all started happening after that last pointless update! i even did a hard reset and still nothing. is there any way to undo this update? i did the hard reset and even after transfering all my apps to the sim card, i still had to download them all again because it wouldnt pick up the apps from the sim card. im just getting frustrated with this damn contacts in the texts! everytime someone texts me, i have to look for them in my contacts to know who it is! can anybody help?!

I had a version of this issue start to happen just today! (along with other issues...)

The "all messages" screen will show everyone's name just fine with their text, but then I'll open up the conversation and the name of the other person won't appear-- just their number. I went into their contact info and re-entered their name and saved, and that seemed to do the trick for most of the troubling ones... I had to do this a couple of times for a few people. I don't understand what exactly was fixed when I did this, but ooookay! We'll see if this temporary fix ends up lasting...

Also, for some of my contacts, it will show their name for the text message and then also their phone # in parentheses after it... but this isn't true for all of my contacts. Why is this different for some?
