Odd discovery, confirmed by LG support...
The Notes section under Contacts has a limited number of characters. For me that is dysfunctional, as I keep extensive notes for my clients. So my notes are truncated under the stock Contacts app. Have to go to a different app that can handle unlimited notes. Fortunately there are many such apps.
