Contact Photo?

I apologize if this has been asked, I have searched and not found an answer.
I do not use contact photos so is there a way to remove the dull gray icons that are there by default?

yes,...go to people....choose a contact....open...click on bottom where it says edit....then click on the camera that will appear next to contact name...choose one of your saved pics...click save and voila....

oh and it's the same with specific ringtones for each contact...click edit ...choose saved ringtone...then save...and done

Thanks for the replies, I did not ask my question correctly. Is there a way to just remove the gray icons rather than use a photo at all?

dunno...sorry...but I don't think so unless you use a all black or white pic instead....or use a different app as a contact book/phone book.....soooo...hope someone else can help more...thats just what I would do and I am new to all this too so good luck
