I am referring to when I go to phone someone and their photo comes up.
It used to be fuzzy, and now its not.
 
I have a bigger problem.....
When i call someone or i am being called, no photo comes up although i have set the photo in people widget. Have i missed any setting or is there a problem? Any help would be apperciated, thanks!
 
OK! Sorted out: If you choose to view phone contacts in people widget, there will be no photo showing up in case of calling. But if you choose to see the google contacts , everything is ok.
 
Bit of a noon question, didn't want to start a new thread. But how do you add photos of people on your phone. I've got tons of photos but when I press menu and try to add a contact image, no one's number is available to select.

I also can't add people's pictures on the small facebook feed, or control my email notifications.

Total noob, I'm rooted, but have to send my phone back to T-Mob. So I've flashed the stock rom and will re-root.
 
Yeah I've noticed a change - some (most) of the Facebook pictures have gone. This phone does my nut at times it really does.
 
When was this supposed to change? I just got my Hero today and noticed the same thing... uploaded a hi-res picture in google contacts in my PC browser, and the contact image ended up being a horribly compressed, tiny little blur :(
 
It's a known issue with HTC phones....

Basically, contact pictures are stored as a tiny thumbnail and then when needed (when you make/receive a phone call) it gets enlarged. Hence the crappy pixelated quality. :(

This has NOT been fixed with any of the ROM updates...

G8D, how did you fix this???
 
You basically just had to assign the images from somewhere else, using the standard contacts app on the phone or something like Slide2Unlock. I did notice when I sync'ed these contacts on my Diamond with my google account, the contact images were mangled in exactly the same way every time I did that :(
I tried doing the same with the "people" app on the Hero, but it still seem to compress the image :(
 
i found something out - this is related, but not the same that you're talking about



i manage my contacts in gmail - and i add ppl's pictures there

you have a few options of where to assign pictures from - picasa, your PC, a URL


well, i have a picasa acct, i thought it would be cool to do it that way

but i notice some of my contacts were appearing, others weren't - why?


i figured it out... if you assign the picture through picasa, it doesn't appear in your phone (it may for a while - but not later, for some reason)

but if you right-click within picasa, get that picture's URL, and link to that pic in gmail's contacts, it appears in your cell phone within a few secs or a couple mins (depending how big the pic is)
