Help Contacts and Calendar

Hey guys!

I think I'm getting a Galaxy S2 this week and I was wondering a couple of things.

I'm currently using a Nokia 6600i slide and want to have all the data in my calendar ported over to the Galaxy. I can export my contacts using the 'Nokia PC suite' software. Is android compatible with the calendar export? Or will I have to convert it?:o

Also one of my friends has the Galaxy and synced their phone with their facebook, and now their entire list of facebook friends populates their contats. Is there a way to filter the list, just to show sim/phone contacts & only certain facebook contacts?

Thanks guys :p

What format does the Nokia PC Suite export contacts into? If it's a .ics file you can download an app from the Android Market called "CalendarSync" that will import a .ics file into your Android Calendar. It costs about

I think it is either .ics or .csv... or maybe both. I think it if I save the calendar as .csv it is capable of being imported to Google account.

Dead on. As long as my contacts aren't bombared with facebook friends then that is grand.

Cheers chief :)

You can. If you don't mind doing it using a PC, you can go to the calendar on Google using your PC and import from ICS or CSV, then just sync your new phone with your Google account.

Then for your contacts etc just export to SIM/import from SIM.

Gone are the days when we had to write down all our contacts and then re-enter them all haha :D

Well I finally got my S2. I imported my old phone's calendar to a google calendar "phone calendar". Whenever I sync my phone to google calendar nothing happens. None of the calendar entries are synced to phone.

Any ideas?
