Contacts confusion

I am very confused, I have just updated the software on my phone....

Tried to back up my phone
No contacts in my contacts list
Went to send message and all my contacts are there under add new recipient
some multiple times......

How do I get these into my phone book??

How do I get these into my phone book??

Go to Contacts list and click left button/menu button. Chose to import backups from SIM card....and there should be a merge option that merges contacts.

It gathered a bunch of that info for you probably from Facebook after you set that up.

Use restore if you backed up your data online using Google or Sony sync.
