Contacts - Deleting or hiding Google Contacts

Hello,

I cannot seem to remove the Google Contacts list.

When I go to edit contacts I seem to have two categories, Google and Phone

The default always selects Google. But I don't even want Google contacts displayed.

I have already turned off Google contact synching

Now if I could just figure how to delte ONLY the Google contact list. I do not want to sync with Google. I do not want my contacts shared with Google or anyone.

Syncing your contacts with Google isn't a thing of the devil. It just syncs your Gmail contacts with your phone and vise versa. It can be very helpful if you get a new phone, or somehow lose your contacts, because all you have to do is sign into your phone with your google account and let it sync them all back on.

And trust me you Dont want the contacts on the phone cause that takes up space and unless u have a gsm device to store numbers on your Sims card you phone will be s. L. O. W:eek::D

you could always create a new google account with no contacts, and turn off sync, in both your phone settings and in gmail settings. use that account for all things google on your phone (initial sign in, google play, etc)

The GS2 has plenty of storage so that really isn't an issue. Contacts that are synced with Google are still stored on the phone, and are not dependent on having access to a data connection to get to them. The Sync feature is just a backup and easy way to transfer your contacts to a new or second device.
