Help Contacts Disappeared

Galaxy S with 2.3.3

Woke up this morning with no contacts which were all there last night. display settings are fine but contacts on phone and google account show 0 contacts. Auto sync is off.

Rest of phone data is fine.

1) Open your Gmail on PC and export your contacts to a file and store them on your PC. This is in case something bad happens in step 2

2) Re-start the phone and sync it with your Google account. You will get them back.

This has happened with me as well on 2.3.3, I am still figuring out why it happened.
