Help Contacts disappearing

Coming over to Android after having an iPhone for years but I'm having troubles with the contacts stored in my phone in that they keep disappearing for long periods of time. When I open my text messages, all of the conversations appear as +1303... phone numbers. Then one day the names will return, only to disappear the next day. Kicker is that when I go to my phone log, it shows the names of all the numbers. Are the contacts stored differently in the phone log than the saved text messages?

Try this

Open the contacts app
Tap the left soft key
Tap select contacts to display
Adjust to All if not always.

You may need to export contacts from your SIM and phone via the same options menu to sd card, then import them back in to something like your google account.

Once done, you can just display your google account contacts (optional - only with phone numbers) and your done, just sync to update to Google servers.
