Contacts from social networking app

I added my Facebook account to the social networking app on my Droid 3. Once I did this, it pulled all of my facebook friends info into my phone contact list. How can I stop this from happening, most of these people I only really talk to on Facebook and it makes my contact lit over crowded. I tried deleting the names from my contact list but this also deletes the names from any status updates that I see in the social networking app.

Please help!!! This is my first smartphone and I really do not have a clue what Iam doing yet.

Try going into Settings > Accounts and Sync and tap on Facebook. It should bring up another screen where you can uncheck Sync Contacts. Then you should be able to go into your contacts and remove who you want. Hope this helps!

I got really hopeful for a minute but no luck, when I go to setting > accounts there is not a"sync" option. I can see my facebook account but it does not allow me to chane any settings

When you go to menu>settings>accounts & sync do you see more than your Facebook account listed? If so, what happens when you tap on the Facebook account?

Contacts>menu>settings>display options (or anything that sounds like it)>look for facebook>uncheck.

This will keep Facebook synced to your phone and you logged into the app, but the Facebook contacts will not appear in your phonebook. Your contacts will also be kept synced to their respective Facebook accounts.

From the Facebook app tap on settings, scroll to the bottom, click on sync contacts then click on either don't sync or sync with existing contacts.

I think you have to do it both places, but I'm not that familiar with the social app included with Blur.
