Help Contacts Gone But Not Gone

I have a Samsung Vibrant

I don't know quite how to explain this. But in the past few months I noticed that some of my contacts aren't listed under Contacts anymore. The thing is that if I go back on my Call Log or History they will still show up there. And that's the only way I can access them. So they have to be on the phone somewhere right? I mean from there I can hold their image down and then go to "View Contact" and see all their info. The thing is I can't access that from my Contacts page. Can anybody help me find out what's going on?

A little history though: I had a few of the missing numbers on my Buddies Now widget. The thing is that sometimes when I put my phone in my pocket the phone is still active and it somehow manages to make the buddies now widget go away. Funny thing about that is that wearing gloved hands won't change the screen but it will change in my pocket. Hm. But that's besides the point. Anyway - now I can't find these contacts. And even when I go to "View Now" and click Save again they still don't go to my Contacts list. And no they aren't on the SIM or phone apparently.

Using contacts, I can only see the first 50 contacts or so. But if I use the phone dialer and select contacts, I can see all 1,00 of them.

Is this the same problem as yours?
I have no solution to mine, yet...
