contacts - invalid file format error?

Over the last day or so, every time I try to open up a contact on my Samsung GS3, I get an error message that says "Error Invalid File Format", and when I hit cancel, it puts me into "file explorer". How do I fix so when I select a contact that contact opens up?
 
Uninstalled 3 apps - Atlantis, US Open Golf Championship and Excel Reader, and now I can properly access my contacts once again. Not sure which app made the conflict, but my hunch would be the last one as the others I had installed a while back and never noticed the issue.
