Contacts issues

Hello,

I am afraid I'm having problems with the simple function of adding contacts to my Android phone. Due to some other issues, I have been advised to add all new contacts to my Gmail account (not to "Sim Card" or "Phone Memory"). However, when I add a new contact to my Gmail account via the phone, it isn't automatically added to the System Group "My Contacts". Hence it doesn't show up in my phone's address book, unless I allow "other" contacts to be displayed as well. But then, my phone contacts are littered with stupid email addresses from Gmail, which I don't want either. Any solution to this?

There should be an option in the contacts app to only show contacts with phone numbers.

Thanks for the advice - I totally forgot about that, and it definitely helps!

Just for the record though - shouldn't new contacts be added to the "my contacts" group by default?
