Contacts lost!

Hi Guys, went to look at my phone (LG G2) and my contacts had disappeared. The only ones I have left are numbers from WhatsApp. No backup on Gmail and I'm not sure if I've missed something, perhaps with outlook? Any help is appreciated, I had 200+ contacts that's pretty difficult to get back. Thanks!

What type of contacts did you lose? Phone, Gmail/Google, Exchange, or other account? If its anything but Phone contacts, they should be retrievable, just resych that account or delete and add back in.

It might be worth mentioning that all of my texts are still there, just with a load of numbers. I haven't been using my phone very much so it's confusing

How do you not have a backup o Gmail? I thought Gmail backup of contact, apps, etc. was by default on Android phones. Log into your Gmail and double-check.

No they don't, the heartless bastards

Incorrect..or sorry your carrier doesn't I presume. I'm on Verizon and they provide the option to backup your contacts, photos, music, videos, and text messages. It actually can cause problems because it will cause duplicates to show up if you're syncing/backing up with more than one tool.

I don't have Verizon, I've got EE in England and it's a special service offered that costs the Earth. In hindsight I should've got it really!

So, you're using a G2, which automatically sets your contacts to Google, but your contacts are not backed up in your Gmail? Have you logged into your Gmail via a computer and then switched over to Contacts to double check that they are not there for sure? If they're backed up, then they're recoverable. If they're not, then sorry to say it, but they're most likely gone.
