contact's name is too long...

Hello to all androids.
I recently purchased a samsung galaxy y and when I try to add a contact with long name to the SIM card it informs me that "the contact's name is too long to be processed or saved".
Is there anything to do to overcome the problem?

This is not the problem of phone....
This is happening bcoz sim card doesnt support more than 12 characters.
This will not happen if you save it in phone....
So save your contact in phone if you have long names(i.e more than 12 character)...

Thank you very much for your reply. I thought that the problem was the OS of the phone. I will save the contacts to the phone.
