Contacts Nicknames..

Ok.. here's the deal. I am coming from a standard device directly to the droid. I have never done any syncing or anything in the past.

So.. on my phone my friends typically had nicknames that I used for their contact info as opposed to their actual name. But now.. if it is syncing to my address book contacts I would like to have their actual name as well.

I see/know there is a category in the "more" section of each person's card for a nickname. Is there a way to make that their default in my Contact list?
